There is no way I can tell this story and do it justice, just no way.
I am actually fighting back tears of joy as I am trying to write this blog.
The last weekend in April, Brandi and I, along with 6 other family members boarded a plane for Arkansas. Our destination was not a family reunion, but a road race. The first Annual BV Memorial 5K + 1 road race. This race that benefitted the Ronald McDonald House of Arkansas was in memory of my cousin. It was just such an emotional day for us all.
I’ll let you read the story for yourself at www.bvmemorial.com - because again, I could never do it justice.
You may be asking yourself what is a 5K + 1. It’s not an extra K, but an extra mile. They asked all the racers to go the extra mile for the Ronald McDonald house, and because Brian would have wanted something a little different, they wanted to make the race a little different too. The course was a total of 4.1 miles = 5K + 1.
I will say that the pride I had in my family this weekend was just amazing. It was so great to be a part of something that took them over a year to plan and was for such a great cause.

If you couldn’t tell Ronald McDonald showed up to help kick the race off.
This has to be one of my favorite moments of the day – Ronald and my Aunt & Uncle leading the 150 racers to the finish line. Not going to lie, I choked back some tears so I could focus on the task at hand. I totally pictured the Rocky Soundtrack in my mind as I saw this image!

…and they are off!

Another moment of pride… We had 4 Moore’s win a trophy in the race. (No it wasn’t fixed!!!!)
I am so proud of my family.
